Those Who Almost Ascend

This piece explores the idea that salvation is not a moment, but a condition.

At the center is a figure suspended above reach - not hostile, not benevolent, simply present. Below, a mass of bodies reach upward, indistinguishable in effort, yet unequal in outcome. One figure stands closest to release, marked by traces of transformation, while the rest remain bound to repetition.

The gold elements are not symbols of reward, but of transition - fragments of something incomplete, something conditional.
I wanted the image to feel inevitable rather than dramatic. Calm instead of heroic. A system rather than a judgment.
This work was created as a personal exploration of hierarchy, belief, and the uncomfortable distance between effort and grace.
